Chris Hein: Guitar, Backup Vocals As soon as Chris Hein learned how to play piano in the late 1980s, he began writing songs. Over the following years, Chris amassed a solid repertoire of original, captivating songs, as well as an impressive portfolio of literature. In May 2005, he completed his first novel entitled Wasting David Adams. In this colorfully drunken narrative, Chris explored themes of social ambiguity, depraved enthusiasm and crippling disorientation in a post-graduate Lotusland. Following work on this novel, Chris spent several years focused on streaming free-verse poetry. Simultaneously, Chris played bass, guitar and screamed back-up vocals for Sean Evans and Kevin Anderson’s punk band, Frank Dux. Chris recently added to his long standing solo act by herding in The Buffalo Gang, a vagabond assembly of folk-rockers, including Eric Hein (bass), Sean Evans (drums), Erin Harris (back-up vocals) and Meghan Marshall (back-up vocals). The band plays regularly around Montreal. When not dealing out his unique brand of sonic poetry for the masses, Chris sits in on rhythm guitar for The Northerners.
